CHARLOTTE ó Lamont Mack scored 23 points and Charlotte won its first Atlantic 10 Conference game of the season in a 69-64 overtime win against Massachusetts on Wednesday night.
Ian Andersen scored 13 for Charlotte (6-11, 1-3), including a 3-pointer that tied the game with 33.3 seconds left in regulation. He also hit four foul shots in overtime.
JMU 70, Towson 59
HARRISONBURG, Va. ó Juwann James scored 17 points to lead five James Madison players in double figures as the Dukes defeated Towson.
James Madison (13-7, 5-3 Colonial Athletic Association) avenged a 58-57 loss at Towson on Jan. 3. Since then, the Dukes have posted a 5-1 record while the Tigers are 1-5.
Former West Rowan star Junior Hairston went only 2-for-9 from the field and scored six points.
Coll. of Charleston 88, Appalachian St. 80.
CHARLESTON, S.C. ó Andrew Goudelock scored a career-high 33 points as College of Charleston beat Appalachian State 88-80.
Donald Sims scored 15 points to lead the Mountaineers (6-10, 3-5).
Kentucky 73, Auburn 64
LEXINGTON, Ky. ó Jodie Meeks and Patrick Patterson did it again.
Meeks scored 32 points and Patterson added 21 points and a career-high 18 rebounds to lead sloppy Kentucky (15-4, 4-0 Southeastern Conference) to a 73-64 victory over Auburn.
