CHINA GROVE — Carson’s newest musical is practically perfect in every way. Opening tonight, Carson will present “Mary Poppins: The Broadway Musical.” This will mark the school’s tenth spring musical, and isn’t one to be missed.
George Banks (senior James Robinson) leads the family with precision and order, as wife Winifred (junior Mikayla Summerall) stands by his side. But when magical Mary Poppins (senior Ayla Williams) arrives, the family’s life is changed forever. Mary Poppins teams up with chimney sweep, Bert (senior Austin Harrington) to help the Banks children learn some very important lessons about life.
The cast is supported by its lovely ensemble, back stage crew and orchestra — which features over 120 talented students.
The musical opens tonight at 7 p.m., and will run throughout the weekend on Friday at 7 p.m., Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 3 p.m. This production includes orchestral direction by Carson faculty member Jeff Street, choral direction by faculty member Megan Wyatt, choreography by current Catawba student Makenna Pate and direction by faculty Alex Reynolds and Bristol Glass.
Tickets are $7 for general admission and $15 for premium seats. Visit theatrecarson.weebly.com to purchase tickets.
