From left, the players included Ben Fleming, Mack Roberts, George W. Wright Sr., Arthur Young, Bud Spears, Jim Bostian and Webb Sechler (at back). Lassiter and the Rowan Museum are planning a June 16 special event, ‘Batter Up: A Salute to Southern Rowan Baseball,’ to be held from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. at the China Grove Roller Mill, 308 N. Main St., China Grove. The day’s proceeds go toward operating expenses and maintenance of the roller mill. Sponsorships are available.
