MOCKSVILLE ó Davie County Senior Services has the following upcoming opportunities at the facility located 278 Meroney St.
Advance Planning Expo ó Friday, April 3, 2-4:30 p.m. Free.
Representatives and experts will be on hand in the following areas: funeral homes/funeral pre-planning; Social Security; financial planning/wills/planned giving; veteran’s affairs; organ donation /living wills/power of attorney.
There will also be door prizes and giveaways.
Ask the Doctor ó Monday, April 6, 10:45-11:15 a.m. Speaker: Dr. George Kimberly. Free.
Kimberly will be there the first Monday of each month to answer questions. Although this is no substitute for a doctor’s visit, it is a great opportunity to ask about those issues that have been on your mind. You’ll also benefit from hearing other questions asked and answered as well. Open to adults 55 and older and exceptions under the general participation policy.
Financial questions answered ó Tuesdays, beginning April 7, 10-11 a.m., Classroom A, by appointment only. Counselor: Eric Hermanson, assistant vice president of Sun Trust Bank or other representative. Free.
These are 15 minute appointments to answer a variety of questions you may have. You do not need to be a customer of Sun Trust, as these sessions will be educational only, no selling will occur. Make your appointment by calling Senior Services.
At the Farmington site:
Easter celebration ó 10:30 a.m., April 6. Free. Small party and an Easter egg hunt. Limited to the first 25 to register.
Diabetic foot care ó 10:30 a.m., April 16, free. Speaker: Aliza Bro, Davie County Hospital.
Taking care of your feet is extremely important if you are diabetic. Come learn tips to help keep yourself safe. Limited to the first 25 to register. Qualifies for Destination Fitness drawing.
