SALISBURY — The family and friends of a Salisbury woman killed in a June 22 motorcycle crash will celebrate her life with a gathering today.
Jennifer Nicole Burch, 27, was killed when the motorcycle she was riding collided with a vehicle in the 2900 block of West Innes Street, near West Innes Church of Christ.
Burch was a passenger on a motorcycle driven by Thomas Dax Llewellyn, 32, also of Salisbury. Both were ejected when the motorcycle crashed into the back of a Toyota Corolla driven by Luann Kay Taylor of Rockwell.
Both vehicles were traveling north. Taylor had stopped to wait for oncoming traffic so she could make a left turn into West Innes Church of Christ, according to an N.C. Highway Patrol collision report.
The report said Llewellyn failed to reduce his speed and crashed into the back of the car. The motorcycle was on its side as it skidded, ran off the road to the right and landed in a ditch.
The report said the helmet Burch was wearing was not properly fastened and came off in the crash.
Burch leaves behind a 5-year-old daughter and her parents, Nancy and Rocky Burch.
The memorial service will be at her home.
