SALISBURY — A 7-year-old boy who left his Lincolnton Road home Sunday evening was found an hour later in Spencer.

Nehemiah Ross apparently rode his BMX-style bicycle to the nearby town, according to the Salisbury Police Department.

Nehemiah’s mother reported him missing about 4:30 p.m. Sunday after he got out of the house, investigators said.

When his mother realized he was not outside playing in the yard, she called 911.

Salisbury police issued an alert on social media about 8:45 p.m. About an hour later, officials said the child had been located and reunited with his mother.

An adult found the child and called the police, officials said.
