Mets reliever Bobby Parnell (East Rowan) pitched 2/3 of an inning and didn’t officially allow a run in New York’s 7-4 loss to Florida on Tuesday.
Parnell entered in the sixth with one out and a runner on first as the Mets held a 4-2 lead. A single put runners at first and second.
The Marlins scored when John Baker hustled home from second as Jeremy Hermida’s hard grounder to third bounced off David Wright for an error. That run went on Livan Hernandez’s record.
Dan Uggla then flied out to center, and Cody Ross struck out looking. Parnell has a 1.74 ERA.

Mets first baseman Carlos Delgado and second baseman Luis Castillo were out of the starting lineup against Florida while recovering from recent injuries.
Delgado hurt his right hip when he slid on a triple Sunday and did not play in Monday night’s 7-1 win over the Marlins. The slugger had an MRI exam Tuesday, and manager Jerry Manuel said he planned to rest Delgado in the series finale today.
“He should be ready to go Friday,” Manuel said.
The Mets are off Thursday.
