Staff report
Salisbury’s girls soccer team moved into a tie for second place in the CCC with a sharp 3-1 victory at Ledford on Wednesday.
Jenna Bryan, Katherine Heidt and Karen Presnell scored goals for SHS. Heidt had two assists, and Laurel Loeblein had one. The Hornets led 3-0 at the break.
“I can’t single out anyone tonight ó just a total team effort,” SHS coach Matt Parrish said. “The girls took it personally that Ledford beat us at home, and tonight it was time to pay up. We played the way we’re capable of, and if we can continue to play like that we’ll be a team to be reckoned with.”
Ledford won 4-2 at Salisbury on March 30. Both teams are now 9-3 in the CCC.
The teams are likely to finish tied at the end of the regular season and have fared identically against every CCC opponent. Parrish said it had not been determined yet if a tie would be broken by a special game or by a coin toss.
Salisbury is at home tonight against East Lincoln.
