SALISBURY — The Rowan Chamber is hosting a kickoff for its 2018 Total Resource Campaign from 5 to 7 p.m Aug. 13 at Trinity Oaks.

The theme is “Be the Voice: 60s Style” as a continuation of the Rowan Brand: Be an Original.

Team captains will dress in 1960s attire to encourage volunteers to “be the voice” of the Rowan County business community.

“The chamber is all about representing the needs of our entire business community,” said Nicole Holmes Matangira, the chair-elect and campaign chairwoman. “We want to embrace the inclusiveness and diversity of the 1960s as we address the issues of today. We invite anyone who is not yet a member of the Chamber to join us – there’s strength in numbers.”

Matangria, who owns Holmes Iron and Metal Inc. and Matangria Recycling, has selected team captains, including:

• Dari Caldwell of Novant Health Rowan Medical Center.

• Elia Gegorek of Gegorek & Associates Realty LLC and Minority Business Council.

• Donna Grace of Trinity Oaks.

• Carrie Hanneman of F&M Bank.

• Dr. Nicole Sherrill-Corry of NSC Behavioral Health Concepts.

• Janet Spriggs of Rowan-Cabarrus Community College.

• Louanne Stanton of Louanne-Independence Insurance Agent.

The kickoff will be included with the Business After Hours mixer at Trinity Oaks, 728 Klumac Road.

Campaign volunteers will participate in sales training sessions to learn about new benefits and services. The sessions are Aug. 14 at 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. or Aug. 15 on 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at the Gateway Building, 2014 E. Innes St.

The campaign continues through Sept. 14 and prizes will be awarded at the Sept. 17 chamber board meeting.
