Salisbury man killed, two others injured in Concord shooting

CONCORD — Three people were shot early Sunday morning after altercation on Union Cemetery Road.

Willie Clarence Peck III, 31, of Salisbury, died of his injuries, according to Concord Police Department.

The two other victims are being treated at Atrium Health Northeast and are in stable condition. One received injuries to his leg and the other received injuries to his back. Police said one is from Salisbury and the other is from Concord.

Police did not release the two other victims names.

Police responded to several 911 calls at 1:37 a.m. on Sunday about gunshots coming from the 351 Union Cemetery Road area. Officers responded to the scene and saw people fighting in the parking lot. Police began clearing out the area and found two individuals who had been shot during the altercation. A third victim, Peck, arrived at Atrium Health Northeast shortly after.

251 Union Cemetery is space that can be rented for private parties. Police said initial reports say an individual from Charlotte promoted a party there. An altercation occurred during the party and someone started shooting.

Police said they haven’t made any arrests, and it is an active investigation. They are asking if anyone has information to call the Concord Police Department at 704-920-5000 or Cabarrus County Crime Stoppers at 704-93-CRIME.
