Letter: Counties are equals

As a longtime resident of Davidson County, I found the letter about the Will-Cox bridge by Gerald Yates upsetting (“Create destination on Rowan side of Wil-Cox Bridge,” Aug. 19).
First of all, had he done his research he would have known that Rowan County elected not to bid on the purchase of the bridge in 2009.
Secondly, does he not know that we are to love our neighbors as ourselves?
I was raised and lived in Rowan County but moved to Davidson County in 1957. I shop in both counties, eat at restaurants in both counties, attend church in Rowan County and believe both counties are equals. We are not in competition with each other as to which is the best county.
