Nursing organization wants to bring new facility to China Grove

Three organizations are seeking to relocate 89 nursing facility beds for a new facility, including a 30-bed special care unit, in China Grove.

Britthaven Inc., Hillco Ltd. and Granite Falls LTC filed a certificate of need application with the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Service for the relocation.

Forty-nine nursing facility beds would be relocated from Premier Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Onslow County, 20 would be relocated from Jacob’s Creek Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Rockingham County, and 20 would be relocated from Chowan River Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Chowan County.

The project is expected to cost $15.2 million and would be completed in October 2021.

A public hearing on this project will be held at noon Sept. 18 in the Hurley Room of Rowan Public Library, 201 W. Fisher St.

Anyone may file written comments on the proposal. Comments must be received by the Healthcare Planning and Certificate of Need Section no later than 5:30 p.m. Aug. 31.
