United Way invites public to meet new executive director

SALISBURY — Rowan County United Way will host a meet-and-greet with its new executive director, Jenny Lee, on Thursday.
Lee will begin her role as director on Tuesday.
She is a Salisbury native and was previously a grant coordinator for the Lucille W. Gotham Intergenerational Community Center at East Carolina University and executive director for Rebuilding Together of Pitt County.
Lee graduated from East Rowan High School. She holds a bachelor’s degree in social work from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and a master’s from East Carolina University.
“We are delighted to invite the community to meet Jenny in person and see for themselves what an asset she will be in her new role,” Rowan County United Way President Bill Burgin said. “Her experience, energy, professionalism and passion will help change lives in Rowan County for the better.”
Rowan County United Way serves 14 agencies in the community. They include Rowan County Literacy Council, The Arc/Rowan, Rowan Vocational Opportunities, Boy Scouts Central NC Council, Communities in Schools, Rowan County YMCA, Rowan County Youth Services Bureau, American Red Cross, Rowan County Rescue Squad, Salvation Army, Trinity Living Center, Rufty-Holmes Senior Center, Families First, Family Crisis Council and Smart Start Rowan.
United Way also serves two partner agencies, Jobs for Life and Capstone Recovery Center.
The meet-and-greet is scheduled from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday at the United Way offices, 1930 Jake Alexander Blvd. W.
