SALISBURY — Sweet Frog on East Innes Street is saying thank you to linemen and emergency personnel for their work during Hurricane Florence.
On Friday, Sweet Frog will be giving free frozen yogurt to emergency personnel from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m.
“We try to do little things to tell them thank you,” said Ashley Mauldin, store manager. “We really appreciate them especially in an event like this where they really have to step up.”
Sweet Frog is located at 912 E. Innes Street and was impacted by the storm. Mauldin said they closed the store on Friday and reopened on Monday at 2 p.m. They lost power on Sunday and experienced some flooding.
“We really prepared,” Mauldin said. “We had very little water in our store. It was definitely a mess.”
Mauldin said Sweet Frog gives a 50 percent discount to emergency personnel, but has wanted to do something bigger to show her appreciation.
“It came on a little more suddenly,” she said. “It’s been on my heart and mind.”
Emergency personnel and linemen can stop by the East Innes Street Sweet Frog on Sept. 21 to get a free 8-ounce frozen yogurt.
