SALISBURY — In 2017, more than 2,000 domestic violence-related calls were made in Rowan County.

The Family Crisis Council of Rowan County has planned a candlelight vigil to remember those who died from domestic violence and to honor the survivors.

The vigil will be at 7 p.m. Monday on the steps of the Rowan County Courthouse. It will feature speakers, music, and a bell toll to recognize victims of domestic violence in the past year.

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
