Associated PressNEW YORK ó On a rare off-night for Johan Santana, the New York Mets bailed their ace out with their bats.
David Wright, Carlos Beltran and Ryan Church homered ó with Church sending a drive over the 16-foot wall and into the well where the Home Run Apple sits in straightaway center field ó and the Mets beat Philadelphia 6-5 on Tuesday night.
Santana (8-3) tied his career high by allowing four home runs for only the second time in 221 major league starts, allowing drives to Ryan Howard, Raul Ibanez, Jimmy Rollins and Chase Utley. Ibanez’s drive was just the 10th ever off Santana on an 0-2 pitch.
But Santana also helped himself with his bat, hitting a tying double in the sixth. Alex Cora’s RBI single made it 5-4, and Church homered off Chad Durbin in the seventh.
After Santana left in the eighth, Jayson Werth singled off Bobby Parnell and Pedro Feliciano relieved. Howard grounded into a double play and Ibanez bounced out.

ATLANTA ó Derek Lowe pitched seven solid innings and Yunel Escobar hit a two-run single in the seventh.
The Braves won their third straight game ó matching their season high. Lowe (7-3) allowed seven hits, walked one and wound up snapping a personal two-game losing streak.
Rafael Soriano pitched around an error by Chipper Jones for his fifth save.
Marlins 4, Cardinals 3
MIAMI ó Jeremy Hermida homered leading off the ninth for Florida, which rallied from an early three-run hole.
Rockies 3, Brewers 2
MILWAUKEE ó Carlos Gonzalez had a pair of doubles and Colorado rallied for three runs in the seventh inning.
The Rockies have won six straight on the road under new manager Jim Tracy.
Cubs 7, Astros 1
HOUSTON ó Ted Lilly pitched 6 2/3 shutout innings.
Lilly (7-4) allowed only three hits to beat the Astros for the sixth straight time.

WASHINGTON ó Johnny Cueto had another one-run outing, and Brandon Phillips had a two-run double.

BOSTON ó Josh Beckett allowed only an infield hit in six innings, and David Ortiz hit his third homer of the year.
The Red Sox improved to 6-0 against the Yankees franchise for the first time since 1912, when they beat the Highlanders in 14 straight ó including the first-ever game in Fenway Park.

ARLINGTON, Texas ó Brian Tallet and two relievers combined for a two-hitter, and Adam Lind homered.
Tallet (4-3) went seven innings to match the longest start of his career. Dirk Hayhurst and B.J. Ryan each pitched a scoreless inning of relief.
