Karen Shearer Dunn to speak at Oct. 18 Power in Partnership

SALISBURY — Karen Shearer Dunn will speak Oct. 18 at the Rowan County Chamber of Commerce Power in Partnership breakfast. Her topic is “Intergenerational Workforce.”
Dunn teaches organization and relational communication at Wingate University. She previously taught at Queens University of Charlotte for more than 20 years, receiving the Fuqua Distinguished Educator Award and Outstanding Professor Award.
Dunn has been a senior account executive at advertising agencies including Leo Burnett & Co., on the McDonalds account, and an instructional designer and trainer for Arthur Andersen & Co. in Chicago.
With Karen Dunn Talent Development, she has done consulting, training and speaking in gender, intercultural nonverbal and cross-generational communication for organizations such as IBM, Wachovia, Coca-Cola, Motorola, TIAA-Cref, LPL Financial, U.S. Postal Service, the state of North Carolina, Philip Morris and others.
She is also a contributing author of “Sex, Gender and Jobs.”
She holds a master’s degree in organizational communication from Ohio State University.
The Power in Partnership breakfast will be held at Trinity Oaks, 728 Klumac Road.
For non-Power Card holders, the reservation deadline is Tuesday.
The breakfast is $15 for members and $25 for nonmembers.
