SALISBURY — The Salisbury Fire Department responded to a house fire at 6:07 a.m. today at 615 Rowan Mill Road, near Balfour Drive.
Smoke was showing from the single-story residence when firefighters arrived. Fire Marshal Terry Smith said the fire was brought under control quickly, and he estimated that 25 percent of the house received heavy fire damage, while the rest of the residence had smoke and water damage.
No one was injured. Fire crews were released from the scene about 8 a.m.
“Our investigators have been on the scene all morning and did not find anything suspicious and will rule the fire as accidental,” Smith said in an email.
The home, built in 1941, has a tax value of $48,227, and the owner is listed as James Baxter.
Police set up barricades on Rowan Mill Road for traffic control at Balfour Drive and Foxfire Drive.
