… Legendary coach Sam Moir dies at 94

Coach Moir left a legacy worthy of emulation. As the first African-American graduate and basketball player at Catawba College from 1965-1969, I am exhibit A of his compassion and leadership. His boldness and sincerity impacted my life beyond words. Deepest sympathy to Mike, Charles and the entire Moir family and circle of friends, especially “Team Catawba.”

… Editorial: Voters ask, what district?

Legislative district boundaries have been drawn and redrawn so often that it’s easy to get confused. And that should be stopped.

The county you live and pay taxes in should be your boundries. NO slices of a heavily populated area, no partial counties. Keep it simple.
