KANNAPOLIS — Last year, Run Kannapolis was looking to add another race to their series in the fall, and they came up with a Fall Back 5K.

The second annual race is on Sunday at 1:50 a.m. during the time change. Runners deck out in neon and glow in the dark for the fun run.

Annette Privette Keller, Kannapolis’s director of communication, said the race is a part of the city’s discover a healthy life brand.

The City of Kannapolis and Fire Explorers partnered up to host the seventh race of the 2018 series. The Fall Back 5K will benefit the Kannapolis Firefighters’ Burned Children’s Fund.

The race is at the NC Research Campus. Early registration continues to Nov. 2 at 7 p.m and is $20. Race-day registration is on site at 12-1:30 a.m. and is $25. All the proceeds will go to the fund.

“Come and have a good time,” Privette Well said.

There will be awards for overall male and female and the top 3 males and females in each age division.
