Power Curbers Companies announces promotions

Three employees were promoted at Power Curbers Companies LLC.

Stephen Bullock has been named chief operating officer. Employed there for 24 years, he has been vice president of sales and marketing for the last 15 years.

Fred Bryan is now the vice president of sales. He previously was an international sales manager for seven years and also spent two years in Singapore building the Asian market for the company.

Steve Milam is the eastern regional manager for the company. During his 15 years with the company, he has managed various regions in the U.S. and Canada.

Power Curbers Companies also announced the addition of Steve Peacock who is the product support manager. He will be responsible for product support, molds, all training material and product manuals.

Power Curbers Companies was founded in 1953 in Salisbury.

Career Expo & Veterans Appreciation Event is on Thursday

Job seekers and veterans will have the opportunity to meet employers at the Career Expo & Veterans Appreciation Event on Nov. 8 at First Ministry Center.

A special veteran reception will be 3:30-4 p.m for all veterans. The career expo is 4-8 p.m.

Pre-expo workshop will also be offered on Nov. 6 at 2-3:30 p.m. at Fellowship Hall on Fulton Street. It is taught by Salisbury Jobs for Life faculty and will include topics on “10 Ways to Stand Out at a Career Expo” and “Know Your VIPES: Values, Interests, Personality, Experiences and Skills.” The workshop is free.

Waggoner Realty Company adds realtor, two brokers

Waggoner Realty Company announced the addition of Rosalind Waggoner Hines as a realtor.

The company also adds Dan Waggoner, the broker in charge, and Anne L. Steward, a broker.

For 50 years, Waggoner Realty Company has been in business for property management, commercial real estate and selling and renovating homes, apartments and buildings.

Nazareth Child & Family Connection opens substance abuse outpatient center

The Nazareth Child & Family Connection opened an office that provides outpatient adult and child therapy for substance use and mental health in Albemarle on Nov. 1

The center will offer medication assisted treatment and psychological testing as well.

“We believe there is a real need for this facility in Stanly County,” said Vernon Walters, president and CEO of Nazareth Child & Family Connection. “It will be staffed with the best clinicians possible who work diligently with clients for the best possible outcome.”

Data from the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Service showed Stanly County ranked No. 1 in the state for opioid overdoses in June of this year. Stanly had the state’s highest rate for opioid overdoses that resulted in emergency room visits and topped the list for overdoses from heroin and synthetic narcotics in June.
