CHINA GROVE — Sandra Rogers has not missed voting in an election since she was 18. She walked out of the China Grove precinct on Tuesday, hands in the air.

“It’s a chance to express your opinion. We can’t complain if we don’t do our part,” Rogers said.

Rogers said voting is “our responsibility.”

In China Grove, many voters, like Rogers, said they take their voting responsibility seriously.

“It’s your civic duty. I don’t discuss politics with people. I do my talking in there,” Zack Willett said, pointing at the polling site.

“People are so angry. They need to be able to say something,” said Katie Willett.

The Willetts also had voted at the China Grove Community Building.

“It’s important to vote in every election. It’s our civic duty,” said Jonathan Greene.

Patty Neubacher went to the polls with her children and said it was important for her to do so.

“I want to vote in all elections,” she said.
