The writer is responding to a column in Sunday’s Post, “Navigating not-so-friendly skies.”

Thank you, Dr. David Nelson, for your letter about navigating the skies and the rhetoric in today’s world. I, too, never thought I would hear such horrible language and hatred, and I am also in your age bracket. And so many acts of violence and domestic terrorism are more than alarming.

I am encouraged by your words that things will get better. I am still filled with fear and trembling that too many things have gone too far and that our beloved country’s democratic republic may not recover.
