Nov. 28 marks one year since the passing John Sigmon.

Sigmon dedicated his life to teaching young people. His family is establishing a student scholarship in his honor which will help offset college costs for graduating East Rowan Senior High students.

Sigmon was an educator at Erwin Middle School for more than 30 years.
