SALISBURY — At the last Salisbury City Council, members agreed to push back the start time of meetings to 6 p.m. to accommodate the public-comment period.

The first council meeting of the year was moved to Wednesday since Tuesday is a city holiday.

As part of the city manager’s report, the council will receive an update on the adopted 2018-19 Goals and Outcomes. It will also receive an update on Project Care.

As part of the consent agenda, the council will consider authorizing the city engineer to extend agreements with the N.C. Department of Transportation regarding signs, traffic signals and computerized traffic signal maintenance.

The council will consider a budget ordinance amendment after two parks and Recreation donations totaling $52,000.

Appointments to the Salisbury-Rowan Economic Development Commission board are also on the agenda.

Mayor Al Heggins will present a special recognition of Alex Clark and recognize January as National Mentor Month.

The meeting will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday at 217 S. Main St. Public comment will be at 6 p.m.
