COOLEEMEE — Liberty AME Zion Church, 271 Gladstone Road, celebrates its 141st church anniversary on Sunday at 3 p.m.
Rev. Marcus L Fairley, pastor of St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church, will be the guest speaker.
Rev. Michael Mitchell Sr. is host pastor.

18th pastoral anniversary at FHMBC
Fairview Heights Missionary Baptist Church, 704 Old Concord Road, began celebrating Pastor Clarence E. Marlin and Evangelist Cathye Marlin’s 18th pastoral anniversary on Jan. 9 and services will continue on Sunday at 11 a.m. with speaker Evangelist Shelia Bush, associate minister of FHMBC.
Dinner will be served at 1:30 p.m. Evening service begins at 3 p.m. with guest speaker Rev. Jimmy Griffin, pastor of New Jersey AME Zion Church of Lexington.

Sandy Ridge fellowship program
The Steward Board of Sandy Ridge AME Zion Church will sponsor its inaugural Stewards and Deacons Community Fellowship Program on Sunday at 3 p.m. Rev. Harold Jordan, pastor of Third Creek AME Zion Church, will be the guest speaker.
Members of steward and deacon ministries of area churches are invited. Each member of these ministries as well as all in fellowship are encouraged to sow a seed of $25 in the name of the stewards and deacons of your church.

‘The Roots of Billy Graham’
CONCORD — The annual meeting of Concord Friends of the Library features Jim Lutzweiler speaking on “The Roots of Billy Graham” at 2 p.m. on Jan. 26.
Mr. Lutzweiler has made a lifelong study of religious fundamentalism. He has been archivist and rare book collector at Southeastern Theological Seminary and a history professor at Guilford Community College.
This free event will be held in the auditorium of the Cabarrus County Public Library, 27 Union St. North.
