The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for Rowan County from 1 p.m. Saturday  to 7 p.m. Sunday.

Freezing rain is expected, with total ice accumulations of up to two-tenths of an inch.

According to the advisory, minor ice accumulations are most likely on elevated objects like trees, overpasses, and bridges. Plan on some slippery road conditions, mainly on bridges and overpasses, causing travel difficulties. Slow down and use caution while driving.
