Friday’s boys games …

South Rowan

LANDIS — South Rowan’s boys produced their biggest offensive game in years but still lost to North Davidson on Friday.

The Black Knights won the fast-paced Central Carolina Conference game, 95-84.

The high-powered Black Knights got 36 points from Themus Fulks, one of the state’s top scorers, 24 from sophomore Jamarien Dalton and 13 from Landon Moore.

North Davidson (13-3, 10-0) stayed unbeaten in the league.

South Rowan (2-14, 2-8) lost despite putting five players in double figures for the first time this season. Jarron Hines stayed hot with 17 points. Logan Carter scored a career-high 16. Andrew Jones had 15, Brenden Finger scored 14, and Braden Graham had 12.

South put five in double figures last season in a win against Oak Grove.

The 84 points were the most scored by the Raiders since their 86-70 win against Carson in the 2010-11 season.

South stayed in the game and was down 43-36 at halftime.

“We put up a lot of points, but we didn’t get enough stops.” South coach Andre McCain said. “The problem was we couldn’t keep Fulks from getting to the rim.”

Salisbury

LEXINGTON — Salisbury’s boys came through with a big Central Carolina Conference road win on Friday.

The Hornets won at Lexington, 72-55, avenging a 53-49 home setback early in the season.

Salisbury (11-5, 9-2) took command right away, jumping to a 9-0 lead. The Hornets, who won their third straight, never trailed.

Salisbury led 37-26 at halftime.

“Our kids have been looking forward to this game the second time,” SHS head coach Bryan Withers told the Lexington Dispatch. “We shot 29 percent the first time and they beat us by four. We had something to prove. Our guys are starting to develop.”

The Hornets took over second place in the league standings.

Zay Kesler scored 17 to lead the Hornets. Cam Gill (15), Jacquez Smith (13) and Raheim Walker (10) also scored in double  figures. Freshman Jalon Walker had eight.

Guard Derrick Dearmon scored 23 to pace the Yellow Jackets (9-8, 9-3), who have dropped three in a row.

East Rowan

GRANITE QUARRY — Sophomore Gavin Sprinkle had his second straight huge game, scoring 27  points, but East Rowan’s boys lost to Statesville on Friday, 82-71.

Sprinkle had scored 26 in his previous outing against South Iredell.

Elton Hooper (14), Gabe Hinceman (13) and David Jordan (11) also scored in double figures for the Mustangs (8-9, 1-3).

Chris Brown scored 21 for the Greyhounds (8-8, 4-0). Elijah Holland scored 14, Jasiah Gathings scored 13, and Jeremiah Mott had 11.

East led early, but Statesville put up a 31-point second quarter to take a 48-37  halftime lead.

East got more stops in the third quarter, but wasn’t able to do enough offensively to make a move.

Davie County

MOCKSVILLE —  Davie County mounted a furious rally in the game’s final stages to defeat visiting East Forsyth 55-51 and remain undefeated in Central Piedmont Conference play on Friday.

The War Eagles (15-1, 4-0) scored 15 of the game’s last 17 points. Davie outscored East Forsyth 20-7 in the fourth quarter.

East Forsyth (11-5, 2-2) led by 11 points in the third quarter and was still up 49-40 with six minutes left to play.

Michael Walton’s driving bucket with two minutes left gave Davie its first lead since the opening minutes.

Jacob Hendrix made a layup for a four-point Davie lead with 50 seconds left.

East Forsyth scored with seven seconds left, but Owen McCormack made two free throws for Davie with five seconds left to secure the win.

McCormack led Davie with 20 points. Troy Griggs scored 14, while Hendrix had 12.

Savon Brintly led East Forsyth with 17.

CONCORD — A.L. Brown got a road win at Robinson on Friday.
The Wonders took the South Piedmont Conference matchup, 66-63.
Freshman Kheni Briggs scored 20 for the Wonders (14-4, 2-2).
Elijah Isom scored 12, Amare Haynie had 10, and Amari Grier added nine.
A.L. Brown went 14-for-18 from the foul line in the fourth quarter.
 Justin Boateng led the Bulldogs (6-11, 1-3) with 16 points.
Robinson led at halftime, 29-26.
