Series: One of the oldest rivalries involving a Rowan team. Lexington leads 37-30-4. It’s been pretty fierce competition ever since Lexington won 24-0 in 1935.

Game notes: Salisbury is supposed to win, but Lexington has enough athletes to be dangerous. This is also the biggest rivalry the Hornets have in the revised CCC, and this game is on the road.
Lexington suffered a surprising CCC loss to East Davidson, but it’s record may be deceiving. It has played a very stout schedule outside the league and lost to High Point Central (7-1), High Point Andrews (5-3) and 4A North Davidson (5-2).
Lexington has skilled players, as always, with QB Al Challenger (161 passing yards last week) joined by RB Duke Horton and receivers Stefon Walters and Codie Boger.
Salisbury and Lexington have faced two common opponents. Both beat North Rowan and West Davidson.
Salisbury is rushing for 223 yards per game, but its passing attack, which includes Riley Gallagher (four TDs) at tight end, will probably have to be a factor in order to win tonight.
