Blotter: Charges pending after fight between women at the Fish Bowl

SALISBURY — A drunken fight between two women turned violent when one of them struck the other over the head with a beer bottle at a downtown nightspot, according to the Salisbury Police Department.

Police say the incident occurred at the Fish Bowl, 127 East Innes St., on Sunday. Officers were called to Novant Health Rowan Medical Center where a 25-year-old woman had a significant cut to her head.

She said she had been in a fight and was hit over the head with a beer bottle. Police issued an arrest warrant after talking with patrons at the bar who corroborated the woman’s statement.

Police officials said both women gave conflicting stories about what started the fight. No arrest has been made.

• A man reported an assault at the hospital Sunday.

• A man reported vandalism Sunday in the 1500 block of Bost Street.

• Bobby Ray Forbes, 66, was charged Friday with first-degree burglary in the 1700 block of Second Street.

• Dwane Christopher Davidson, 36, was charged Sunday with felony obtaining property by false pretenses.

In Rowan County Sheriff’s Office reports:

• F&M Bank reported fraud Thursday at 420 N. Main St.

• A woman reported a larceny Thursday in the 800 block of West Innes Street.

• A woman reported Thursday she was assaulted by strangulation on Feb. 19 in the 1100 block of N.C. 152 East, China Grove.

• A man reported a stolen vehicle Thursday in the 3200 block of East Ridge Road.

• A woman reported a stolen license plate Thursday in the 100 block of Country Lane.

• A man reported a break-in Thursday in the 100 block of Linda Avenue, Kannapolis.

• Joseph Heriberto Navarro, 25, was charged Thursday with felony possession of a weapon by a prisoner at the Rowan County Detention Center.

• Dillian Christopher Beasley, 19, was charged with felony possession of marijuana at the Rowan County jail.

• James Titus Kirks, 70, was charged Thursday with misdemeanor breaking and entering in the 1500 block of North Main Street, China Grove.
