A Kannapolis firetruck was damaged in an accident Tuesday afternoon, the city said.

A man driving a Mazada Protege crossed the center line on Centergrove Road and hit the firetruck head on. The driver of the car was transported to Atrium Northeast for treatment. No one else was in the car.

The four firefighters in the engine truck were also taken to Atrium Northeast with minor injuries.

The city of Kannapolis did not release any more information about the accident.
