Blotter: Police investigating vehicle break-ins

SALISBURY — Thefts from a number of vehicles were reported over the weekend, including two incidents on Pearl Street.

A woman reported Saturday that someone stole items from her Kia Optima that was parked in the 100 block of Pearl Street, according to the Salisbury Police Department. The theft occurred about 1 a.m., she told police.

A woman on Saturday reported that two pocketbooks and other items were stolen from inside a Nissan Altima and a Toyota Camry parked in the 200 block of Pearl Street.

In other Salisbury Police Department reports:

• A woman reported on Saturday said someone stole a 30-day license plate from her vehicle in the 1000 block of Freeland Drive.

• A woman reported on Saturday her vehicle was stolen from her driveway in the 1300 block of Tabernacle Street.

• A man reported Sunday that someone broke her windows at her property in the 3400 block of South Main Street.

• Salisbury Housing Authority reported vandalism Sunday in the 600 block of East Bank Street.

• A woman reported vandalism Sunday on North Arlington Street.

• A man reported an assault Monday in the 100 block of Dove Meadow Drive.

 

In Rowan County Sheriff’s Office reports:

• A woman reported Friday that someone stole items from her vehicle parked in the 3600 block of Mount Hope Church Road.

• A woman reported an assault Friday in the 2200 block of Ritchie Road, China Grove.

• A man reported Friday that a vehicle was stolen between Wednesday and Thursday in the 1600 block of North Main Street, China Grove.

• A man reported Friday that a firearm was stolen from a vehicles rummage in the 3300 block of Mount Hope Church Road.

• A woman reported an assault Friday in the 200 block of Hyde Lane.

• Clifford Murrell Pierce, 29, was charged Friday with felony possession of a controlled substance at U.S.52 and Emmanuel Church Road, Rockwell.

• Landon Darryl Smith, 23, was charged Friday with misdemeanor assault on a female in the 3000 block of East Ridge Road.
