First team
Janiya Downs, South, 5-11 Sr. — Associated Press All-State pick averaged a county-record 32.3 points per game and added 12.5 rebounds per game and a lot of leadership for a young team. Topped 50 points twice. No. 2 scorer in Rowan history. Signed with Catawba.
Bryanna Troutman, Salisbury, 6-2 Sr. — Stuffed the stat sheet with rebounds, assists, steals and blocks while averaging 16.8 points per game. A program-changer for the Hornets, she led a 25-5 team to the Central Carolina Conference championship. CCC Player of the Year. Signed with Wingate.
McKenzie Gadson, Carson, 5-9 Sr. — Led a 27-3 team that won the North Piedmont Conference championship in scoring and rebounding. Led a defense that had the best numbers in school history. Christmas tournament MVP and NPC Player of the Year. Signed with Anderson.
Abigail Wilson, West, 5-11 Jr. — Scored 562 points in a terrific junior season. Scored in double figures in every game, with a high of 39 points. Led the NPC in scoring (21.6 per game) and rebounding (11.5 per game). Shot 57 percent from the floor.
Adalie Harrison, East, 5-0 Jr. — A great floor leader, she averaged 11 points per game and led the Mustangs in assists. She did almost all of the ball-handling for an improved East team that had a winning season.
Second team
Anayia Fulson, Salisbury, 5-8 Jr. — A talented guard, Fulson averaged 11.6 points and was an excellent distributor. Should get her 1,000th career point on opening night next season.
Hannah Wilkerson, North, 5-7 Fr. — Very poised and under control for a freshman, she poured in 16.2 points per game. She averaged 20 points in North’s three wins in the Yadkin Valley Conference Tournament.
Mary Sobataka, West, 5-7 Sr. — Coastal Carolina softball signee was also a 1,000-point scorer in basketball. Rained 72 3-pointers and averaged 14.7 points as a senior.
Colbie Perry, Carson, 5-9 Soph. — Made 85 3-pointers and averaged 11.5 points per game. She came up big in key NPC wins against North Iredell and Statesville and led Carson in a third-round playoff win against Charlotte Catholic.
Natavia Taborn, North, 5-5 Soph. — North’s floor general came through with 27 points in the YVC tournament championship game against Albemarle. She averaged 11.6 per game.
