Tickets for downtown wine crawl on sale Wednesday

Tickets for Downtown Salisbury’s second annual wine crawl, Wine About Winter, will go on sale on Wednesday at www.downtownsalisburync.com.

The wine crawl is Feb.6 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m

Tickets are $15 per person and include a souvenir wine glass, Wine Yoke holder and walking map, which will serve as the ticket to the event.

The wine crawl will feature Rowan County vineyards as well as wine selections from throughout North Carolina.

The purpose of the group, which meets on the fourth Tuesday of each month, is to provide information regarding real estate investing in Rowan county. Life support course offered for healthcare providers

MOORESVILLE – Lake Norman Regional Medical Center will host a course offering training for the American Heart Association’s Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider. The course will be held on Dec. 9 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. in Community Room B of the hospital, located at 171 Fairview Road in Mooresville.

The initial course is offered to healthcare providers only, designed to teach them how to perform CPR, as well as other life-saving skills, in a wide-variety of hospital or healthcare settings. Healthcare providers who complete this course will receive a course completion card to meet job, regulatory, or any other requirements.  Please note this is not a recertification class.

Philpot joins Chamber of Commerce

The Rowan County Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce that Greg Philpot has accepted a professional sales contract position with the Chamber. Philpot will be responsible for new member sales, retention calls and sponsorship packages.

Philpot has over 20 years of successful business and sales experience as a sales professional and administrative manager. He is recognized as an excellent communicator with strong interpersonal and leadership skills and was most recently employed as the Market Support Manager with Novant Corporate Health and Network Development. In that role, he served as the physician liaison and relationship manager for over 250 physicians, practice managers, referral coordinators and their employees in four counties. He provided extensive communication and oversight of  the clinical operations team which supported 15 corporate contracts serving over 50 locations in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia.

Prior to his work with Novant Health, Philpot worked as a professional sales representative with Merck & Co. Inc.; as CEO, Billing Consultants, for Philpot & Associates PA, in Columbia, S.C.; and as Program Manager for the S.C. Department of Health and Human Services.

Philpot is a graduate of the University of South Carolina and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice. He resides with his family in Rowan County and has been an active member of the Rowan County Chamber and served previously as a board member of RowanWORKS.
