NORTH WILKESBORO — The Patriot Sportsmen is a selfless organization that enables children with special needs, veterans and their families experience healing through outdoor activities. Held at Copper Barrel Provisions, 508 Main St.
Shinetopia will feature live music, local craft beer, food and desserts, artisanal crafts, kid-friendly activities as well as a Cornbread Cook-off -with over $1,000 in prizes, all in the legendary Moonshine Capital of America. Live music by Drew Willardson, Josh Perryman and Will Easter; Nashville recording artist Donnie Lee Strickland; dark country voodoo artists Diamonds and Whiskey from Charlotte and regional favorites Matt Dylan and the HonkyTonk Outlaws from Winston-Salem.
Additionally, the event will showcase automobiles from the prohibition era owned by legends such as Bill Blair Jr., Dub Harris and Kenneth Nicholson to modern day performance cars by members of the Generation Vettes club based in Winston-Salem.

Goldmine Toastmasters celebrates their 60th year in the Concord and Kannapolis area.

9 a.m.-noon Saturday
CONCORD — An open house and 60th Anniversary celebration is planned at New Hope Worship Center, 452 Brookwood Ave. NE. It is free and open to the public.
Past members include Jay Nodine, Kim Jackson, and Brian Woolf. Jay Nodine joined Goldmine Toastmasters in 1965. He was a humorist, a leader, a mentor, and a great friend to hundreds of Toastmasters. Additionally, he served a term as International Director for Toastmasters International. Kim Jackson is a writer and the executive director of Elder Orphan Care which is a ministry helping older adults in Romania, Cabarrus County, and Rowan County. Brian Woolf is a author and a finalist at the 2003 Toastmasters World Championship of Public Speaking.
