Dr. Erma Smith Jefferies-Dalton, former Mayor of East Spen­cer, received her Doctor of Divinity Degree (Magna Cum Laude) – her second doctorate – Oct. 12, 2014, from Masters School of Divinity in Evansville, Ind.
An honor graduate of WSSU, she received her Masters of Theological Studies in 2006 and a Ph.D. with a concentration in counseling in 2012. A retired Registered Nurse, Dr. Jefferies-Dalton is an associate minister of Salem Baptist Church in Lexington, where Rev. Bernard Adams is the Pastor.
