Christmas with Kyle Matthews
KANNAPOLIS — First Baptist Church Kannapolis presents “Christmas with Kyle Matthews” on Saturday, Dec. 6 at 7:00 pm and Sunday, Dec. 7 also at 7:00 pm. The concert will feature the award winning singer/songwriter Kyle Matthews along with the Sanctuary Choir, Adult Handbells and Kingdom Kids Choir. Admission is free. Doors will open at 6:15 pm. Lessons and Carols Service at Hood Theological Seminary

St. John’s Men’s Chorus Christmas concert

Cantata at Memorial Baptist
KANNAPOLIS — ‘Noel,’ a Christmas cantata, will be presented at two venues on two dates by the combined choirs of Memorial Baptist and Centerview Baptist Churches:

CHINA GROVE — A Live nativity performance, “The Light of the World,” will be presented by Mt. Moriah Lutheran Church, 750 Mt. Moriah Church Road, on Saturday, Dec. 6 from 6 until 9 p.m.
Christmas events at Blackwelder Park
KANNAPOLIS — Blackwelder Park Baptist Church, 2204 Summit Ave., will host three special events to celebrate the Christmas season, Two musical performances and a children’s play with fill back-to-back weekends.
The first performance is set for 6 p.m. on Dec. 7. The Blackwelder Park Baptist Church choir will present the cantata “Bethlehem Morning,” directed by church music leader Josh Welch.
The second performance is Sunday, Dec. 14 at 6 p.m. “Room For The Savior” is a play featuring 20 children and adults, directed by Shirley Hooper. The show will be followed by a dessert social.
The final performance, “The Hope of Christmas,” will be performed twice: Dec. 13 at 7 p.m. and Dec. 14 at 4 p.m. The performance will feature Blackwelder Park Baptist Church and community musicians and singers, led by Amanda and Steven Harper, members at Blackwelder Park Baptist Church.

Piedmont Choral Society’s annual Christmas concerts
KANNAPOLIS/CONCORD — The Piedmont Choral Society will present its annual Christmas concerts, with orchestra, on Friday, Dec. 12 at 7 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 201 Vance St. in Kannapolis, and on Sunday, Dec. 14 at 3 p.m. at Forest Hill UMC, 265 Union St. North, Concord.
A reception will follow the Sunday performance. The concert will feature arrangements of familiar carols and songs of the season, along with classic pieces, including several selections from Handel’s “Messiah.” Joseph Judge is director and Don Simmons is accompanist. The concerts are free. A love offering will be accepted. The Piedmont Choral Society is sponsored in part by a grant from the NC Arts Council and the Cabarrus Arts Council.
