On behalf of the Stanback Department of Sacred Music at First United Methodist Church, I commend the Salisbury Symphony’s Education Program for providing another terrific Summer Stings Camp on our campus. It was a delight to host this enriching musical opportunity for 27 exceptional children and youth.

Under the superb leadership of Salisbury Symphony’s Education Director Beth Cook, the camp was divided into three classes for beginners, intermediate, and advanced players. Three gifted and energetic teachers mentored campers throughout the week: Carter Bradley, Margaret Rehder and David Miller. Their commitment and care for each camper made for a successful week of music, culminating Friday afternoon with a concert for family, friends, former string teachers, and enthusiastic supporters.

Hunter Safrit, associate executive director of the Salisbury Symphony, is to be congratulated for his organization and commitment to ensuring the next generation of aspiring musicians has this enriching experience each summer.

It was a complete joy for our music program at First United Methodist Church to partner with the Salisbury Symphony. We eagerly look forward to supporting this meaningful endeavor in the years to come.
