LANDIS — The Landis Board of Aldermen will meet 7 p.m. Monday at 312 S. Main Street.

The only agenda item is to consider adopting a resolution regarding the Federal Clean Water Act amendments.

Despite calls from Alderman Seth Moore to return the public comment period to the way it was at the beginning of the year, the rules of procedure remain as citizens must sign-up before the start of the meeting and citizens are limited to three minutes. It was originally five minutes and citizens could sign up to speak during the meeting ahead of citizens’ comment.

The town has posted several answers on its Facebook page regarding changes to the meter fees and the credit card fees in the past week. The changes came with the 2019-2020 fiscal year budget.

It explains the town paid more that $70,000 in credit card fees in the 2018-2019 budget and to cut costs the town opted with a new credit card processing company that is revenue neutral. Different types of cards have higher fees and it recommends to avoid the fees to pay with a check, use auto-draft of go through the customer’s bank.

Regarding the meter fees the town says it has always charged a meter fee, but it was not broken out in bills, but now the fee is its own line item to make the bills easier to understand and transparent.
