Hurley Park has some great activities throughout the year. One of our more popular educational events is the Lecture and Plant Giveaway.
This is an excellent opportunity for gardening enthusiasts to learn about different plants, other gardening areas, something new they may not know about, and of course, get free plants from Hurley Park.
Last year’s lecture was great, and this year it will be just as phenomenal because Adrienne Roethling, director of Curation and Mission Delivery at the Paul J. Ciener Botanical Garden in Kernersville, will be our lecturer.
The event will be on Thursday, Aug. 22 at 7 p.m. at One Water St. This year’s lecture will focus on new trends, innovative garden styles and adapting to a changing environment.
Roethling handles all of the gardening and horticultural activities at the Paul J. Ciener Botanical Garden. Some of her notable work is creating the exquisite bulb garden display with over 30,000 bulbs.
She selects and designs the display every year with assistance from volunteers. Roethling also hosts numerous programs throughout the year at the botanical garden. We are thrilled to have her expertise.
In addition to her “A Year in the Garden” presentation, Roethling will share her own personal tips, provide a highlight of some top performing varieties and share with the audience her favorite gardens, their seasons and her favorite nurseries.
This will be an awesome event, as well as a great time to get some wonderful plants that are grown in Hurley Park. Be sure to mark your calendar for the event Thursday, Aug. 22 at 7 p.m. at One Water St. Tt will be here in no time. This will be an excellent event for gardeners and nature enthusiasts. Following the lecture, we will have Q&A and the plant giveaway.
