Kannapolis women face drug charges
Two Kannapolis women have been charged with distributing narcotics in an incident that allegedly took place Halloween night.
According to arrest reports, Brenda Kay Kelley, 41, of 1008 Scottish Square Drive, Kannapolis, allegedly delivered 100 units of Loritab to Ashley Lynn George, 23, a resident at the same address, on Oct. 31.
Loritab is a trademark for a variety of the painkiller hydrocodone, a Schedule III controlled substance.
Both women were arrested Sunday. George is charged with one count of possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance. Kelley is charged with one count each of possession of and delivery of a controlled substance. Bond was set at $750 in each case.
