East Spencer Police are investigating a report of a stolen vehicle and a kidnapping.
On Wednesday at 5:41a.m., police responded to 200 Grant St., Apt. 49, in reference to a report of a larceny of a motor vehicle and kidnapping that already occurred.
Upon arrival, Officer K.L Williams spoke to the victim, Brittany Leigh Jones Goodman, and her husband, Alexander Goodman.
Brittany Goodman told officers she was outside her apartment at approximately 5:30 a.m. to retrieve an item from her vehicle. While there, she was approached by two black males who ordered her inside the vehicle at gunpoint.
Once inside the vehicle, the suspects demanded that she drive to the area of Long Ferry Road just outside East Spencer city limits. While there, the suspects ordered Brittany Goodman out of the vehicle and left the area traveling west toward Spencer.
After being abandoned by the suspects, Brittany Jones flagged down the first vehicle traveling down Long Ferry Road. A minister on his way to work at Rowan Regional Medical Center provided her a ride home, where she called 911.
Later that morning, police located the stolen vehicle at the abandoned lot of 410 Southern St. in East Spencer. The vehicle was processed for evidence and released to the owner, Alexander Troy Goodman, Brittany Goodman’s husband.
The case is under further investigation by East Spencer Police Department.
