MOCKSVILLE ó Davie County Senior Services, 278 Meroney St., Mocksville, offers the following opportunities in November.

Food for Thought ó Noon, Nov. 5, MP Room B. Speaker/Topic: Ariel Bouvier, “Writing Stories to Pass Down.” Cost: $3 for lunch
Bouvier is the author of the “Dysfunctional Family Tree” column in the Villager Voice. She will discuss how to preserve your family history for future generations. Open to adults 55 and older and exceptions under the general participation policy.
Veteran’s lunch or dinner – new times: 1 p.m. or 5:30 p.m., Friday, Nov. 6, MP rooms. Cost: free. RSVP deadline: when spaces fill.
All veterans and active military personnel and one guest are invited to a meal in their honor. It includes entertainment, food and favors. Due to the overwhelming response there will be two events this year. Call and sign up for the one that you wish to attend.
The evening dinner will feature entertainment by DC Express. The lunch meal will feature songs by Fred and Marie Roth. Other activities will be the same at both events.
Quarterly dance ó 6:30-9:30 p.m., Nov. 14. Multipurpose Rooms A and B. Deejay: Barry Rentz. Cost: $5.
There will be a variety of music for all kinds of dancing, with or without a partner. Refreshments will be served. Open to adults 55 and older and exceptions under the general participation policy.
Recognizing Depression ó 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 19. Multipurpose Room B. Cost: free. Speaker: Angie Monteleone, Inspirations.

At the Farmington site:Family Caregiving for Older Adults ó 10:30 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 12. Cost: free. Speaker: Kelly Sloan, social worker.
Many older adults are finding themselves caring for someone: either a spouse, one or more parents, or even raising their grandchildren. Kelly will discuss tips and hints for caregivers. Limited to the first 25 to register.
Thanksgiving celebration: 10:30 a.m., Nov. 19. Refreshments will be served. Limited to the first 25 to register.
Safe and healthy homes: 10:30 a.m., Nov. 23. Speaker: representative from the Cooperative Extension office.
