Rowan weather: Relief is in sight

We’ll hold on to a chance of showers and thunderstorms for the next week, but we’ll also see cooler temperatures starting Saturday.
Today will start with plenty of clouds, then clear, with a high of 89. Winds will be southwest at 5-8 mph. A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms is possible after 2 p.m. Less than a tenth of an inch of rain is expected.
It is another Code Yellow air quality day for ground-level ozone.
Tonight will also have a 30 percent chance of showers and storms, mainly before midnight. It will be partly cloudy and 71, with southwest wind at 5-7 mph. Patchy fog will form after 4 a.m.
Thursday starts with patchy fog until around 9 a.m., then it will be mostly sunny and 91. There is a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 10 a.m. A tenth to quarter inch of rain is possible, with higher amounts in thunderstorms.
Thursday night will have the same chance of rain, mainly after 3 a.m. It will be mostly cloudy and 71, with winds calming. Less than a tenth of an inch of rain is expected.
Friday will be partly sunny and 88, with west southwest wind around 5 mph in the morning. A 60 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms is possible before 2 p.m., then more showers through 3, then a return to thunderstorms.
The chance of showers and storms Friday night will be 70 percent. Most of the storms will be before 11 p.m., followed by showers. The low will be 70, with mostly cloudy skies.
Saturday’s chance of showers and storms will be 60 percent, with storms more likely before noon. It will be mostly cloudy and 81. The same chance of showers is possible Saturday night, with cloudy skies and a low of 66.
Sunday will be cloudy and 77, with a 60 percent chance of showers. The low will be 65, with a 50 percent chance of showers.
Monday will be mostly cloudy and 80, with a 40 percent chance of showers. The same chance of rain is possible Monday night, which will be mostly cloudy and 66.
Tuesday will have a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. It will be mostly cloudy and 84.
