Pooches and their human pals dressed up Saturday morning for a Halloween costume contest and parade at Carolina Lily on Kern Carlton Road.
Entry fees for the event benefitted Faithful Friends, which plans to build a no-kill animal sanctuary in Rowan County. Winners in several categories had donations made to Faithful Friends in their honor and got gift certificates to Carolina Lily.
Participants and their pets got their pictures taken as they socialized and then paraded around Carolina Lily just before a light rain forced an end to the fun.
