Relay for Life of Rowan wins awards, celebrates

Relay for Life of Rowan County had a lot to celebrate at its Relay Monster Mash costume party Saturday night, having just won national and regional awards.
The organization won an award as the top community in the South Atlantic region for funds raised in 2009.
The organization also won an award within its region for outstanding school involvement and an award for leadership in advocacy.
The organization won a national award given to communities that meet standards for growth, retention, relay branding, diversity and leadership.
