Flared sleeves and floppy hats, jumpsuits and platform heels, mini dresses and gogo boots, along with sunglasses three sizes too big – the 1970s were a distinctive time with the distinctive tunes.

And the N.C. Transportation Museum will bring it all back with a gala fundraising event Sept. 7 – NIGHT FEVER: 1970s at the Shops.

Disco balls and dance floors will be the scene as the Back Shop swings from steam locomotives to Studio 54.

The event will feature live music from the Tonez, dance contests, party games, and awards for those working their best 1970s attire.
