RCCC faculty member co-authors second psychology text book
Troy Schiedenhelm, a psychology faculty member at Rowan-Cabarrus Community College (RCCC), has co-authored a second psychology textbook that will be used by students at RCCC and other colleges.
Schiedenhelm has co-authored “Discovering Abnormal Psychology: Clinical and Scientific Perspectives” (second edition), with Charles A. Lyons of Eastern Oregon University and Barclay Martin of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (emeritus). The book is intended for abnormal psychology classes and will be available in 2010.
Schiedenhelm also co-authored the textbook, “Discovering Psychology,” published in 2009.
In addition to teaching at RCCC, Schiedenhelm chartered and serves as the adviser of the college’s chapter of Psi Beta, the National Honor Society in psychology. He holds a doctoral degree from Argosy University and has taught at RCCC since 2003.
RCCC offers a number of psychology courses, including applied, abnormal, interpersonal, forensic, social, personality, life span development, general psychology and the psychology of aging.
