Davie County Schools will host its first Showcase Saturday on the square in downtown Mocksville, with student and staff entertainers performing at nearby Junker’s Mill.
Activities will start at 9 a.m. and continue through 2:15 p.m. “We are so excited about this major event,” said Bill Campbell, public information officer for the school system.
Each school and some departments will have booths displaying examples of “great things taking place in our system,” he said. Different PTAs and clubs from the schools will have booths as well.
District-wide partners of the school system were also invited to participate. There will be face painting for the children, food and entertainment for all.
Davie High School will close the event with a homecoming parade to kick off spirit week. The parade will start at 1:30 p.m. in downtown Mocksville. Everyone is invited to come out early and enjoy all the activities.
