North Hills Christian School
Hudson Taylor, a missionary to China, once said, “When we work, we work; when we pray, God works.”
Prayer is the means God has ordained by which he will work on earth and meet the needs of his people. If prayer is not a significant and distinguishing feature of our lives, we will not see the hand of God or the movement of God.
We want to see God move on the campus of North Hills Christian School. For this reason, we begin every school year with a campuswide prayer walk in which every space on campus is consecrated and set apart as we seek for his kingdom to come and his will to be done.
To begin our school year, students, staff, parents and the greater community gathered in Helen Kelley Smith Gymnasium to participate in the annual Back to School Prayer Walk.
Participants were divided into groups and then walked around campus to cover the school in prayer for the 2019-20 school year. Each prayer group stopped at a designated location to give thanks for the school and to pray for God’s strength and guidance throughout the school year.
The theme for this school year is “Destined to Win.” If the essence of this year’s theme could be explained in one word, it would be “perspective.” Perspective can be defined as the capacity to view things in their true relations or relative importance. We believe this year the Lord wants to train us and grow us in how we see, because it is when we see ourselves in victory that we behave as victors, ready to fight the good fight of faith for the God who is and will be victorious.
North Hills Christian School is a nondenominational college-preparatory Christian day school serving students in junior kindergarten through high school. It is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, a division of AdvancEd, and by the Association of Christian Schools International, an international organization that is recognized by the North Carolina Division of Non-Public Education.
